Anya started their training in contemporary, hip hop, ballet, jazz, popping, locking, waacking, and house at Roco Dance & Fitness. They recently graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California with a B.A. in Dance: Choreography & Performance, a minor in East Asian Studies, and a certificate in Computer Science. As a member of the Saint Mary’s Dance Company, Anya trained under Cathy Davalos, Pope Flyne, Dana Lawton, Andrew Merrell, Riy Mutakabbir, Rogelio Lopez, Shaunna Vella, and Jia Wu. He led and participated in K-Pop dance covers each year in the annual Saint Mary’s Cultural Night performances, and he represented the company at the 2025 and 2026 ACDA Northwest Conferences and the 2025 ACDA National College Dance Festival in Washington, D.C. Anya values dance as a space for grounding, expression, and community, and they hope to foster a joy and love of dance in their students.
Founded in 1993, RoCo Dance has been a cornerstone of Marin County's dance community for over three decades. Under the leadership of Sadie Carhart, Artistic Director and Owner, RoCo continues to inspire dancers of all ages through creative expression, technical excellence and community connections.
With over 100 classes weekly at it's Mill Valley studio, RoCo offers one of the Bay Area's most comprehensive dance programs for youth and adults. Classes span all levels and styles including Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Breaking, Brazilian, Cardio, Pilates, Fitness and more. Classes are taught by some of the Bay Area's finest instructors and guest artists.
RoCo dancers perform 4-6 times annually at Bay Area performance venues showcasing original choreography and celebrating artistry, collaboration and the joy of dance.
