Bridget Polei was classically trained in ballet in Dallas, Texas where she joined a performing company at age 12. She began her professional ballet career while still in high school and trained with the top schools and companies in the nation like American Ballet Theatre, Joffery Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Houston Ballet. Her national recognition in the Youth American Grand Prix awarded her a scholarship to study at the University of Oklahoma Ballet program and Ballets Russes archives where she earned her BFA in Ballet and a BA in Heath and Exercise Sciences. There Bridget found a passion for choreography and her work was presented in the Young Choreographer’s Showcase. She also diversified her training in Jazz, Modern, and theatre at Point Park University in Pittsburgh. After graduating with honors Bridget joined Ballet Quad Cities in Illinois where she was presented with many leading roles and taught intro dance courses at the Blackhawk Community College. She then transferred to Ballet Ariel in Denver and taught at one of the leading schools in the area where her students have gone on to dance at Julliard, Marymount Manhattan, and into commercial work. Bridget is now retired from dancing but her successful transition into her daily career was recently recognized in Dance Magazine. You can always find a home in the dance community so no matter where or what Bridget is doing, she finds time to teach and give to the next generation of dancers.
