Sonja Dale began her training at Berkeley Ballet Theater with Sally Streets. She danced professionally for over 15 years with both contemporary and classical ballet companies, as well as a brief stint in aerial work. Former companies include KDNY Dance, SYREN Modern Dance, Australia’s Strange Fruit, Liss Fain Dance, The Mark Foehringer Dance Project, and Sharp and Fine. She has taught all ages of people at many Bay Area dance schools, including Berkeley Ballet Theater, Berkeley City Ballet, Shawl/Anderson Dance Center, Piedmont Ballet Academy, Conservatory of Classical Ballet, and Steppin’ Out. Her class is straightforward and joyful, with an emphasis on strength and quality. She can’t wait to dance with you!
Founded in 1993, RoCo Dance has been a cornerstone of Marin County's dance community for over three decades. Under the leadership of Sadie Carhart, Artistic Director and Owner, RoCo continues to inspire dancers of all ages through creative expression, technical excellence and community connections.
With over 100 classes weekly at it's Mill Valley studio, RoCo offers one of the Bay Area's most comprehensive dance programs for youth and adults. Classes span all levels and styles including Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Breaking, Brazilian, Cardio, Pilates, Fitness and more. Classes are taught by some of the Bay Area's finest instructors and guest artists.
RoCo dancers perform 4-6 times annually at Bay Area performance venues showcasing original choreography and celebrating artistry, collaboration and the joy of dance.
