Madyline Jaramillo discovered her passion for dance through her High School’s Theatrical Dance program, where she trained in Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, and Hip Hop. Originally from Grass Valley, California, she relocated to Sonoma County in 2021 to attend Sonoma State University, where she currently double majors in Dance and Business Administration with a concentration in Women and Gender Studies. Upon moving to Rohnert Park, she was welcomed into the beautiful community of diverse artists and makers. She unfolded a new layer of creative exploration and passion for building community. During her time at Sonoma State, she has brought work to the ACDA Baja Conference of 2023 in Irvine and studied under company members of Urban Bush Woman and members of Ballet BC through the Cal State Summer Arts program at Fresno State University 2022.
As a college student, she strives to be deeply involved in her surrounding communities while studying under her mentors, Christine Cali, Kristen Daley, and Farrah McAdam. Her current research explorations involve understanding the mind-body connection through imagination
and improvisation while connecting to personal lineage and strengthening community connections. She believes teaching through movement allows in-depth skill-building while understanding shared values and lineages. She enjoys working and choreographing with movers of all ages and abilities. Her strengths in the classroom craft an uplifting environment and contribute to exploring shared experiences while validating the individual.
